Agriculture Sector

data points

Agriculture is Ukraine's greatest resource, and the agriculture sector holds the most promise for future development. The nation is the #2 exporter of grains globally and has experienced 70% growth in grain yield over the last 10 years. However, in the opinion of many economists, this industry still remains vastly underutilized.

Ukraine is home to 33% of the world's rich, black earth soil. Chernozem (name of the black soil) reaches a depth of between 40 to 250 inches. The depth of this top layer of soil provides a wide variety of horticulture applications. Currently, 36.3% of Ukraine's exports are agriculture related products.
